Greece held the ancient Olympic Games begining in the year 776 BC. Fittingly, Athens hosted the first ever modern day Olympics in 1896. On Sunday, Athens hosted the first world boxing championship match and topped it off with Greece’s Christina Linardatou (11-1, 6 KOs) dominated and definitively claiming world championship gold.
Linardatou dropped Canadian challenger Kandi Wyatt (8-1, 3 KOs) to the canvas three times in the 6th Round, causing blood to stream from the face of Wyatt, before the fight was stopped.
Linardatou claims the WBO Super Lightweight Championship, bringing another championship to the growing Brian Cohen’s Team Empire Management team.
