Lou DiBella has recently been quoted:
“I want to see women’s boxing get on TV in 2016. I positioned Heather (Hardy) to be an attraction and I think she’s ready to get showcased. There are loads of other talented women fighters and there are loads of other American women fighters that are talented. I just signed the Serrano sisters. They’re talented girls. There are a lot of women out there who are really, really talented in various weight classes and there’s also international talent that can be brought here. So I’d like to see women’s boxing get an opportunity to be seen.”
Well, DiBella does it again! Another highly regarded female fighter is signed to DiBella Entertainment.
IBA and UBF Super Bantamweight Champion Shelly Vincent (15-0, 1 KO), of Providence, RI, is the latest addition to the DBE stable that consists of UBF and WBC International Super Bantamweight Champion Hardy.
Vincent has been featured on DiBella Entertainment’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) undercard on September 12, 2015 in Connecticut, so this signing may have been in the works for some time. On that show, Vincent exhibited a solid display of skill in a one-sided Unanimous Decision victory over Brittany Cruz (10-7-2, 2 KOs) of Thornton, CO.
DiBella Entertainment has been active in the last few weeks, signing UBF Champions Amanda and Cindy Serrano. Amanda is slated to challenge for the WBO Featherweight title on February 17th. With this signing, DiBella is positioning himself well for the future of the sport.
Now, are we looking at a TV showdown of two of the top female Super Bantamweights on a PBC or Showtime Boxing?
DiBella is obviously looking to progress the female sport. Well done, Mr. DiBella!
