- History of Women's Boxing
- 2007 Siriporn Taweesuk, a.k.a. the Black Rose, became the first boxer to win a world championship while incarcerated. Siriporn was serving a 10 year jail sentence for dealing drugs at the time that she faced Ayaka Miyano for the WBC Light Flyweight Championship within the prison facility. The Black Rose won the WBC green and gold belt by Unanimous Decision. For making her Thailand country proud, the champ had three years deducted from her prison term.
