From WBC:
“Tigre” vows to win second WBC crown
Alejandra “Tigre” Jimenez is aiming to win her second WBC Green and Gold Belt this Saturday, but knows full well, that it`ll be a battle royale against robust and determined champion Franchon Crews Dezurn.
The two were due to clash on September 14th, but it didn`t happen then because Alejandra had Visa problems. Franchon fought on that night, successfully defending her WBC super middleweight belt against Marcela Cornejo simultaneously winning the vacant WBO belt.
Alejandra who has built a record of 12-0, including 9 KO`s was the first ever Mexican WBC female heavyweight champion. A Chef, she`s used all of her culinary skills to slim down to the 168 pounds division. Franchon`s record is 6-1, with 2 KO`s. Her only loss was to double Olympic champion and double world champion Claressa Shields on her pro debut.
During a phone call to the WBC`s weekly press conference, Alejandra said most of her preparation has been at the austere Otomi High Altitude Performance Center in the mountains perched over the City of Toluca in daily sessions ranging from six to eight hours. She said: “I respect the champion. It`s the best time for this fight because I`m in magnificent shape. At super middleweight I`m much stronger and much faster. I`m planning to be at the next WBC weekly press conference with the Green and Gold Belt!”
