Brooklyn’s Amanda Serrano (29-1-1, 22 KOs) makes quick work in destroying Colombian Calixta Silgado (14-7-3, 9 KOs)Â in 101 seconds to retain her WBO Featherweight Championship in the first female world championship at the Barclays Center on Saturday. #WomenofBoxingonPBC
Serrano’s power was too much for the challenger as Serrano floored Salgado twice before the referee stopped the bout short of the first round bell.
Reports are that Silgado may have suffered broken ribs from the body shots Serrano was laying on her.
In the post fight press conference, Lou DiBella was hinting at a WBA/WBC/WBO Featherweight unification bout of Serrano and Jelene Mrdjenovich (36-10-1, 19 KOs) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
