Katie Taylor (1-0, 1 KO), of Ireland, stated at a pre-fight press conference: “I never felt like walking away, I knew that there’s still so much more greatness ahead of me. I performed badly at the Olympics (in Rio, 2016) but I knew that the best was yet to come. I am a fresh 30 year old and I feel I have many, many years left in me, so it was a matter of getting past the disappointment and refocusing on the future.”

On Saturday evening at Wembley Arena, at 30 years young, Taylor put on a skills exhibition in dissecting and plugging away at Poland’s Karina Kopinska (7-15-3, 2 KOs) with the stifling left jabs from the opening belt.

Taylor’s combos from body to head paved the way to onslaught that ended the bout at 0:58 of the 3rd Round of the scheduled 6-Rounder.

It is obvious that the Lightweight Division better take note that 5-time amateur World and London 2012 Olympic Champion is a legit threat to contenders and current champions.

The Champ will be back in action on December 10th on the Matchroom Boxing’s undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Eric Molina at Manchester Arena in the UK. The opponent should be announced soon.
