Representing Canada on the grand stage is Flyweight Mandy Bujold’s goal and mission.
The 28 year old Bujold has accomplished nine (9) Canadian National Championships, three (3) Continental Championships, two (2) Pan American Games Gold medals, a Bronze medal at the first Commonwealth Games that included women’s boxing, and a Gold medal at the Queens Cup Elite Tournament in Germany
2015 included the second of her Pan American Games Gold Medals in her own homeland of Toronto, Canada and now another Gold Medal at the Queens Cup Tournament at the Phoenix Sports Club in Stralsund, Germany that concluded on Saturday.
After wins over France’s Wassila Lkhadiri (3:0) on Thursday and Germany’s Ornella Wahner (2:1) on Friday, Bujold claimed Gold with a 3:0 Decision win over Poland’s Sandra Drabik on Saturday. The champ was also honored with the Best Technician Award for the tournament.
Quite the accomplishment to close the year after defeating the highly favored Marlen Esparza for Gold at the Pan Am Games.
Bujold is a champion and force to reckon with in 2016.
