Canadian National Team Boxer Kim Clavel puts her Olympic Dreams in the past for the chance at professional gold, following the lead set forth by many of the world’s top amateurs over the last couple years.
During her 6 years of national team action, Clavel fought her ways to the Top 5 in the world, amassing 65 wins in 80 amateur bouts.
In June after collecting a gold medal at the continental championships, she decided it was time to move forward and signed a promotional contract with Eye of the Tiger Management, co-promoter of Middleweight David Lemieux.
After opponent issues in late October, Clavel officially makes her professional debut on Saturday as part of the David Lemieux challenge of UK’s WBO Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders at the Bell Place in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
The Light Flyweight Clavel is begin her quest to become world champion on Saturday as the swing bout on HBO opposite Yoseline Martinez Jose (3-2) of Mexico in a scheduled 4-Rounder.
What a show to be making her debut on… A memory of a lifetime.
Good luck, Champ!
