From Sauerland Promotion:
Promoters promise Sweden’s biggest boxing event as final fight card is confirmed
Team Sauerland and EC Boxing are proud to present the final fight card for ‘Battle Of The Vikings: Otto Wallin vs. Adrian Granat’ on Saturday at the Gärdehov in Sundsvall.
Promoters Nisse Sauerland, for Team Sauerland, and Erol Ceylan, for EC Boxing, have been working together closely to deliver fight fans an action-packed event, which they believe will be the ‘biggest and best’ to take place on Swedish soil in recent history.
Otto Wallin (19-0, 13 KOs) and Adrian Granat (15-1, 14 KOs) top the bill in a Swedish super fight to rival the 2001 World title contest between Armand Kranjc and Paolo Roberto. The heavyweight foes will meet for the European Union title, with the winner not only taking home the belt, but also staking their claim as Sweden’s number one in the division.
“This is a great fight between two of Europe’s top heavyweight talents,” said Sauerland. “There is a lot on the line with both men eager to prove they are number one. There is no love lost, and their personal rivalry will add to the excitement on fight night”
“This is the biggest fight right now in Scandinavia and also worldwide,” adds Ceylan. “The winner can look forward to a championship shot, while loser will have to a long road back.”
Also in action is female boxing star Mikaela Laurén (29-5, 13 KOs) who faces Germany’s undefeated Verena Kaiser (10-0, 5 KOs) for the IBO World Super Welterweight title.
“This could well be Mikaela’s last chance to win a World title,” says Sauerland. “I know she will be very motivated and ready to give it her all, but she will have to be careful, as she’s facing a very dangerous and undefeated opponent in Kaiser.”
In the evening’s third title contest, Malmo’s Sven Fornling (13-1, 7 KOs) makes a second defence of his IBF Baltic Light Heavyweight belt against Karel Horejsek (12-8-3, 10 KOs).
“Sven is becoming more and more impressive with every fight,” says Ceylan. “He has proven himself as a real warrior, and is much better than many experts give him credit for. I think this could be the fight of the night after the main event.”
A stacked undercard sees Simon Henriksson (13-1, 7 KOs) face Denmark’s Mikkel Nielsen (4-0, 2 KOs) in a Scandinavian super welterweight showdown, Timra-boxer Rocco Wadell (4-0, 2 KOs) takes on Hungary’s Mark Krammerstodter (3-1-1, 2 KOs), Robin Safar (5-0, 3 KO) returns to the ring against Josip Perkovic (4-4-1, 2 KOs) and Oliver Flodin (2-0) will look to improve to 3-0 with a victory versus Aliaksandr Dzemka (5-3, 1 KO).
There is also a further three heavyweight bouts confirmed that will kick-start the action. Berlin-boxer Albon Pervizaj (7-0, 5 KOs) puts his perfect record on the line against Irakli Gvenetadze (10-6, 9 KOs), Sweden’s David Loy (9-1, 3 KOs) meets Dusan Krstin (8-9, 2 KOs), and Agron Smakici (12-0, 10 KOs) faces Giorgi Tamazashvilli (5-2, 5 KOs).
“Ten fights, eight heavyweights, three titles and one massive domestic showdown,” exclaims Sauerland. “This has got to be the biggest and best fight card Swedish boxing has seen for many years. You would have to go back to the glory days of Ingemar Johansson to find anything that comes close to this. Whether watching from home or in the arena, fight fans are in for a real treat. It’s going to be an explosive night of boxing!”
“This is the biggest fight card Sweden has ever seen,” says Ceylan. “We want to make professional boxing great again, and making these kind of events in Sweden is the way to do it. Together with Sauerland, we will make other big events like this again in the future.”
