From MTK Global:
VIDEO: WORLD-CLASS CAMERON ‘ENTERING PRIME’
Trainer Jamie Moore is looking forward to Chantelle Cameron taking another massive step to a world title this weekend.
‘Il Capo’ (11-0, 7 KOs) clashes with Anahi Ester Sanchez (19-4, 11 KOs) in a WBC world super-lightweight title final eliminator on a sold-out #MTKFightNight at York Hall; live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and on iFL TV worldwide.
As she looks to beat Argentina’s experienced Sanchez to the right to face WBC world champion Jessica McCaskill, Cameron is flying in camp.
Moore said: “Chantelle’s camp has been bang on. She’s always in good shape. She banged around a bit in that last fight so she had to be careful for a few weeks but she’s carried that momentum through from last time and she’s got another big opportunity this time.
“She’s improving all the time. She’s 27 and coming into her peak. She’s surrounded by great fighters – Carl Frampton, Martin Murray, Rocky Fielding, Tommy Coyle, Jack Catterall… There are lots of fighters she can picked stuff up from.
“She’s in a place where she’s settled now and MTK Global are getting her these opportunities so she feels like she’s progressing rather than stagnating and she’s full of confidence as well.”
Cameron added: “I feel in great condition. I feel sharp and fast and I’m just so excited to box.
“I’m aiming to produce a career-best performance on the night. I’m going to show everyone that I’m world level and then I’ll take the world title shots I’ve earned.”
Cameron was last in action in a WBC final eliminator down at lightweight when she outclassed Anisha Basheel on an #MTKFightNight in Brentwood, Essex.
