Hammer maroons Nelson
In her debut on American soil, Christina Hammer successfully defended her WBC middleweight crown by defeating US challenger Tori Nelson via a broad unanimous decision.
Hammer’s work was exceptional, as she took advantage of her height and reach advantages to totally dominate. The jab was fundamental for Hammer, who backed it up by unloading hard combinations.
The judges saw Hammer win with 99-91, 99-91 and 100-90. With this result, Hammer raised her record to 23-0, with 10 knockouts, while Nelson left the ring with a pro record of 17-2-3, with 2 knockouts.
