Shields vs. Habazin for the vacant 154-pound WBC belt
The long-awaited clash between the undisputed female middleweight champion Claressa Shields and former champion Ivana Habazin has been rescheduled for Friday, January 10 at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., with live broadcast on SHOWTIME.
Shields and Habazin will fight for the vacant 154-pound world titles of the WBC and WBO, as Shields tries to make history, by winning world champion in three divisions, in the quickest timespan.
Shields and Habazin were scheduled to fight on October 5 in Flint, Mich. The bout was suspended after an altercation at the official weigh-in that resulted in an injury to Habazin’s coach, James Ali Bashir.
