NABF Champion and Silver Super middleweight World Boxing Council champion, Claressa Shields (3-0, 1 KO) held a brisk paced public training session at the Kronk Gym in Detroit.
Claressa is preparing for what will be the toughest bout of her fledgling but eventful professional career. She fights WBC champion, undefeated German Nikki Alder (16-0, 9 KOs) on Aug. 4.
During the event, Shields and his promoter Dmitry Salita received the “Spirit of Detroit” Award from the Detroit City Council.
Claressa commented about her next fight against Adler:
“I am very excited to fight for the WBC title against a tough warrior with a 16-0 record. She has been the champion for three or four years”.
Alder vs. Shields will take place on Friday, Aug. 4 at MGM Grand Detroit. The match will be broadcasted live on ShoBox: The Next Generation. It is promoted by Salita Promotions and the tickets cost $ 350, $ 250, $ 125 and $ 60 dollars and can be purchased at http://Ticketmaster.com.
