From WBC:
Shields keen for Flint stint
Undisputed Female middleweight champion Claressa Shields and former world champion Ivana Habazin, will fight for the Diamond belt of the World Boxing Council, on Saturday, October 5 at the Dort Federal Event Center in Flint, Michigan.
Claressa Shields has formed a steely mindset focused on this important commitment, because she wants to be sharp and offer a great show to the folks of her hometown.
“I am happy to come home and fight. I haven’t fought here since I was 18. I am doing a great preparation because I want to give people a great triumph.
“Coming to this combat bolstered with two Olympic gold medals plus my world champion belts is excellent. Our city has been through difficult times with the water crisis, but I want to show that I continue to fight side by side with the people of my city,” pledged Shields.
Shields vs. Habazin is promoted by Salita Promotions. Tickets for the live event can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com and at the Dort Center box office.
This ebb and flow contest will be the main event of SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION (9 pm ET / 6 pm PT).
