Bytyqi draw against Vargas
Atom Champion of the World Boxing Council, the Czech Fabiana Bytyqi, defended her crown by drawing in 10 rounds with the Mexican Maria Soledad Vargas, in the main battle at the Sportcentrum Sluneta, Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic.
The cards were 97-96 for Bytyqi, 98-93 for Vargas and the third that decreed the draw, with 95-95.
“I expected it to be the toughest fight of my career, and it certainly was. Mexican women are really tough, and each of her punches carried power” said the Czech fighter.
Shortly after the match, the representatives of both fighters confirmed their interest in the tiebreaker. “I have mixed feelings about it, I have a belt, but it’s a draw, I definitely want a second fight,” said Bytyqi.
After this result, Bytyqi`s record is 14-0-2, 5 knockouts, while Vargas is now 12-3-2, 1 knockouts.
