From WBC:
Phiri is already in Nairobi’s throne room
Former Zambian world champion Catherine Phiri is already in Nairobi, Kenya, to face World Boxing Council super-bantamweight champion Fatuma Zarika on Saturday at the Kenyatta International Conference Center in Nairobi.
Upon her arrival, Catherine was questioned by the local media and she stated: “I feel confident about this rematch. It is a very important fight for me. I’m fighting against a strong opponent that I know well. This will be a complicated mission but I am prepared for whatever is presented inside the ring. This Saturday I will dethrone Zarika.”
Both warriors met in February 2017, with Fatuma winning by unanimous decision, following a great and memorable fight.
The champion in her most recent bout defended her WBC crown by defeating Mexican Yamileth Mercado.
For her part Phiri, comes from knocking out South African Asandiswa Nxokwana in the second round.
