On Saturday, September 8th in St Petersburg, Russia, WIBA Lightweight Champion Firuza Sharipova (8-1, 4 KOs) of Kazakhstan, will defend defend her strap against Russian Yulina Kutsenko (7-0-1, 3 KOs).
Roy Jones Jr. posted the announcement on Instagram and Facebook: “Sharipova is a World Champion in 2 weight class and Kutsenko is an unbeaten challenger who has a huge chance to upset the Champ! Both fighters have a very aggressive style so it’ll be a very interesting fight to all boxing fans !! Myself & my team in Russia together with the Sharipova team are organizing this event, so I invite all of you to be there or watch it on TV how 2 of the most beautiful girls in Boxing fights for the World title on the 8th of September in St. Petersburg!”
Sharipova collected the title belt in August of last year after manhandling Bulgarian Milena Koleva over 10 rounds. She followed it up with demoralizing Djemilla Gontaruk in a shut out decision win for the vacant IBO World and vacant WBC Silver Super Featherweight Championships.
This will be Kutsenko’s first title contest of her career and her first bout in over a year and a half.
