“Lupita” aims for the requisite against “Exquisite”
Calm but not placid, Lupita Martinez, is closing in on the fifth defense of the Super Flyweight title of the World Boxing Council, in the emblematic city of Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Guadalupe Martínez Guzmán, born on April 5, 1992 in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico. She has amassed a pro record of 28 fights, 19 of them have been wins including 6 knockouts.
The main objective of the current champion is to break the record of 10 defenses of the WBC title obtained by Ana Maria Torres and Zulina Munoz. Accordingly, she’s ready for her fifth defense against Debani “Exquisite” Balderas, on December 14 at the boxing gala “Maya Codex” in Tulum, Quintana Roo.
“As a champion, each commitment is more and more complicated. So I leave nothing to chance. I respect my rival and my team takes care of studying her; However, we are not going to change our way of boxing. We are going in as if we were the challenger.”
The bout between Martínez (19-9-0 and 6 KO’s) and Balderas (10-3-2 and 3 KO’s) tops the card “Maya Codex” presented by “Cancun Boxing”, “Boxing Time Promotions” and “Promociones del Pueblo”.
