Braekhus signature victory on final HBO broadcast
After 45 years of broadcasting boxing, HBO dropped the curtain at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, with a big card presented by 360 Boxing Promotions starring Cecilia Braekhus who did them proud.
The unified Welterweight World Champion, P Cecilia “The First Lady” Braekhus, retained her crowns by easily defeating Aleksandra Magdziak-Lopes with a wide UD.
On HBO’s last fight night, Braekhus reigned supreme, dominating throughout. connecting with by far the greatest number of punches.
In the middle of the fight, Magdziak-Lopes seemed to be tiring , while Braekhus maintained the pressure, consistently connecting. This was reflected in the wide margin of the cards, which read: 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91.
Braekhus announced her interest in climbing up to the Super Welterweight division, after dominating the welterweights for years.
With this result Braekhus improves her record to 35-0, with 9 knockouts, while Magdziak-Lopes left the ring with a record of 18-5- 3, 1 knockout.
