Lou DiBella had to sit between the two competitors that really do not like each other very much, at today’s press conference in New York, to formally announce Brooklyn’s Heather Hardy (17-0, 4 KOs) and Rhode Island’s Shelly Vincent (18-0, 1 KO) will finally meet in the center of the ring on Sunday, August 21st at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn. The bout will be for the WBC Inter-Continental Title and televised on NBC Sports Network as part of the Premier Boxing Champions broadcast. Hardy vs. Vincent coverage begins at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT on NBCSN.
This matchup has been highly-anticipated and grossly-desired between the two women.
The verbal jabs at each other continued during the press conference.
In her last outing, on June 25th, Hardy outworked Kirstie Simmons at the Barclays Center for a Unanimous Decision victory.
Vincent was just inside the DiBella ring on July 21st, scoring the decision win over Christina Ruiz.
Hopefully, we do not see any local favoritism by the judges nor referee come August 21.
I, personally, do not think this one will go to the cards since both women are going to come viciously prepared for anarchy and heat.
