From MTK Global:
CAMERON AIMS TO INSPIRE NEXT GENERATION
IBO lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron is hoping that her skills inside the ring can help inspire the next generation of youngsters.
Unbeaten Cameron (8-0-KO5) returns to the ring for the first time since October when she fights on an #MTKFightNight event at York Hall in London on April 26, live on iFL TV.
Outside of the ring, she has also recently teamed up with Maverick Stars Trust, a charity focused on helping clubs and individuals develop within amateur and professional boxing, and that is something that Cameron has a big passion for.
Cameron said: “It’s good to be supporting Maverick Stars Trust because I won’t be around forever, so hopefully I can inspire the next generation.
“I’m passionate about helping schools and youth clubs, and I used to be a youth support worker and gave that up to focus on boxing, so I’ve always been around that environment.
“We need to be supporting people at a young age. I think boxing should be brought into the school curriculum as it really helps with discipline and gives you the basis of life. I used to be shy when I was younger, but boxing helped to give me lots of confidence.
“I’ve got this fight in a few weeks at York Hall and I’ve never been happier in boxing, so I can’t wait to get back into the ring.”
The show at York Hall later this month also features Siar Ozgul challenging Sam Antwi for the Southern Area title, plus Viktor Kotochigov, Dan Azeez, Josh Adewale, Jack Ewbank, Michael Elliott and many more.
