From WBC:
“Plebiscite!” Noriega takes Torres’ unbeaten record
Jasseth “Plebita” Noriega defeated Victoria “Vicky” Torres, to win the female World Boxing Council Silver super flyweight crown, in the Lienzo Charro of Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, Mexico.
From the initial bell, both Jasseth Noriega and Victoria Torres, went out to exchange bunches of punches, which was appreciated by the fans.
After the dust settled, the Judges determined a victory for Jasseth Noriega awarding scores of: 97-93 96-94 and 94-96.
Jasseth used her greater experience in the pro ranks to good effect. Considerably shorter in height, she effectively cut the distance, crowding the taller Vicky, outworking her and out landing her, but it was close!
With this victory, Jasseth Noriega improved her professional record to 25 wins, five Ko’s, four losses and two draws. While Victoria Torres lost her unbeaten streak. Her record record now stands at nine wins, three knockouts and one loss.
