JELENA MRDJENOVICH TO DEFEND WBC TITLE IN LA BELLE FRANCE
Sacre bleu! The World Boxing Council female featherweight champion, Jelena Mrdjenovich from Canada (36-10-1, 19 KO’S), will be defending her belt on October 8th at the Cergy-Pontoise, Val-d’Oise, France against local Gaelle Amand, who has an undefeated record with 14 victories.
“I feel strong, and we had a great training camp. We know that it won`t be easy travel to France to win. But… we have traveled to other countries in the past and gained victory. I will indeed get an impressive triumph”. The champion promised.
Jelena comes from recovering her belt, after defeating Argentinian Edith Soledad Matthysse in a rematch bout in March. While Gaelle Amand conquered the WBC International belt after defeating Argentinian Tamara Marianella Nunez by decision.
