The Chicago investment banker/professional boxer, Jessica “CasKilla” McCaskill (6-3, 2 KOs) is now Champion CasKilla after out-working and out-pointing Argentina’s now former WBC Champion Erica Farias (26-3, 10 KOs).
Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has talked highly on McCaskill since she went to England to challenge WBA Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor in December.
All week, Hearn reiterated his perception of her and justified making her the Chicago talent feature for Saturday’s Worlds Collide show at Wintrust Arena.
McCaskill’s work rate set a pace that Farias could not keep up with.
Official Scores: 98-92, 97-93, 96-94
With this championship triumph, McCaskill sets her sights on getting another shot at Taylor.
There is no word yet it Farias had a Rematch Clause in the bout contract. But considering she mentioned that she was winding down her career in her vocal desire to face Cecilia Brækhus back in May of this year where the Unified Champ chose Kali Reis, retirement be being considered.
Nonetheless, McCaskill’s options opened up in two divisions and surely put a target on her back by many of athletes in the pool.
Congrats Champ!
“Wood” from PMNM and Bite Down Boxing caught up with McCaskill after her win to discuss the accomplishment. Their interview is coming very soon.
