In her first defense of her GBU and WIBF Super Welterweight Championships since 2014, Sweden’s Maria Lindberg (15-3-2, 8 KOs) broke her two match losing slump by stopping Lela Terashvili (9-11-1, 4 KOs) of Georgia.

Lindberg delivered more of the shared dishing of punches in this shortened slug-fest. Her head movement kept the connection rate for the challenger at bay.

After the third round, Terashvili could not take any more of the action. Citing an injury to her right hand, Terashvili could not continue and her corner threw in the towel.

With the win, the 40 year old champion is looking for big championship matchups although those two previous matchup loses were to Inna Sagaydakovskaya for the WBC Silver Super Welterweight title and to Christina Hammer for her WBC and WBO Middleweight straps.
