Mariana Juarez joins the ranks in the fight against addictions
World Boxing Council female bantamweight champion, Mariana “Barby” Juarez, was the guest of honor to open the fight against addictions event in the Ecatepec, State of Mexico.
The inauguration was at Hacienda Nueva Vida rehab center run by Aarón Silva Alvarado. He said there are now four clinics located in Ecatepec, and thanks to teamwork, recovery rates are constantly improving.
“There are high percentages, of forty percent, in terms of rehabilitation. It’s a very big effort, but one of great satisfaction. The four rehabilitation centers of Hacienda Nueva Vida are divided into sectors, of women, adolescents, adults and youth, explained Silva Alvarado.
Mariana Juarez stressed the importance of supporting people who have problems with addictions, and more so, if they are family members…a situation which she has lived.
“It is important to support. It’s not enough with affection and love. These rehabilitation centers are so important. We personally suffered this with our brother. The family is hoping that he will return to the right path. The family suffers and is consumed” she said.
