World Boxing Council female bantamweight champion Mariana “Barby” Juarez met girls and young women at the Rosario Castellanos Social Assistance Center in San Luis Potosí, where she stood and delivered a motivational talk.
Also attending were Lorena Valle Rodriguez…president of the State DIF system of San Luis Potosí, Claudia Rosales, director of the Social Assistance Center “Rosario Castellanos”, Miguel Angel Alvarez, general director of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports in san Luis Potosi and Alejandro Fernández Montiel, director of Social Assistance Institutions of DIF. After this great event it was announced that the profits of the boxing office will be directed to this institution.
Mariana said that as the mother of a young child it`s hard to see girls in a vulnerable situation, so she is very willing to do whatever she can to help.
She recommended them to focus on sports and to always dream big, because the great idols of sport have often overcome the most challenging childhoods.
The champion was particularly attentive to those between 6 and 16 years of age, listening to how complicated their beginnings were, showing kindness and compassion.
Mariana Juarez will be fighting at the Auditorium Miguel Barragán, this Saturday against Australian Susie Ramadan.
