HISTORY WILL BE MADE – British #1 and reigning MBC International Super Bantamweight Champion MARIANNE MARSTON is set for the biggest fight of her career, when she faces former WBFed Super Bantamweight World Champion UNATHI MYEKENI in a Bantamweight World Championship (WBU, WBFed, WIBC & WIBA) unification bout at the spiritual home of British boxing YORK HALL, in Bethnal Green, London on Sunday 6th December 2015.
It’s been quite a ride getting to finally challenge for World honours, for the Woolwich, London based Marianne, since first being discovered by the Late, great Heavyweight Champion of the World SMOKIN’ JOE FRAZIER
After Joe’s gym closed she moved to the world class James Shuler Memorial Gym in West Philadelphia, where she was trained by the awesome 2 time Cruiserweight World Champion STEVE ‘USS’ CUNNINGHAM and SHAR’RON BAKER
Since returning to the UK in 2009 Marianne has based herself, where else, but the awesome TKO with additional training at Gordon’s Gym in Woolwich and Ben Day’s Ringtone Gym in Euston.
However since returning Marianne has had to endure much more than most to get to the position to challenge for a World title, forget the normal stuff like injuries etc, I’m talking deliberate sabotage of her career by the BBBofC and I’m not just talking about them robbing her of four years of her career but also through their EBU partners deliberately stopping her opponents competing against her leaving no option but to organise late replacements
