From WBC:

WBC CHAMPION MOMO ANNOUNCES HER RETIREMENT

WBC female atomweight, champ Momo Koseki (24-2-1, 9 KOs), aged thirty five, has officially announced her retirement, after notching 17 successful defenses and winning the WBC minimum belt by dethroning compatriot Yuko Kuroki.

Both belts, therefore, will become vacant with Koseki’s retirement. Momo cultivated by her long-time manager/promoter Masayuki Ariyoshi, has improved and matured in every fight physically, technically and smarts wise. So that she became a formidable champion, having shattered even Yoko Gushiken’s thirteen consecutive defenses and having been unbeaten since 2008 to her Grest credit.

A lean, astute, and brilliant southpaw she’ll go to school to become a therapist for the future, following her retirement.

The World Boxing Council wishes Momo great success in her life and in her future plans.
