From WBC:
“LOBA” OUTFIGHTS THE FIGHTING IRISH
A supremely conditioned, sharp and strong Zulina “La Loba” Munoz outfought, outlanded and outclassed Irish firebrand Christina McMahon, in the eighth successful defence of her WBC female super flyweight title.
The fight was at Nery Santos Gym, in the Border City of Juarez, and after ten rounds of give and take the scorecards read: 97-94, 96-64 and 96-94, which reflected a competitive fight, but a clear, distinct and significant win for Zulina.
Prior to the first bell, Zulina who’s from Mexico City, had vowed to fight flat out, in thanks to the people of Juarez who had taken her to their hearts. That support was evident throughout this absorbing fight. The crowd while politely applauding the young lady from the Emerald Isle, roared on Zulina, with a supreme level of emotion and fervor.
Christina McMahon, switched stance to southpaw, trying to surprise and outfox Loba. And Zulina, didn’t have it all her own way, as some of Christina’s power punches found the mark, snapping back the Champion’s head. Unintimidated, unfazed and perpetualy in command, Zulina showed cool and calculated professionalism, steadying herself to respond by consistenty landing more numerous and better combinations.
Zulina deflected and thwarted a gutsy gallop of a challenge, with her considerable talent, array of skills and oft undemonstrative, yet iron determination.
She improves her impressive record to 46-1-2, 27 KO´s, while McMahon is now 7-2, 5 KOs.
