The very popular Cherneka “Sugar Neekz” Johnson (9-0, 4 KOs) needed only 4 Rounds to become WIBA World Champion on Saturday night at The Melbourne Pavilion, Flemington, Australia.
The New Zealand native recently relocated to Australia and and her team. Now we are seeing a more tuned and destructive force.
In a duel for the vacant WIBA Bantamweight Championship, Johnson was on point with her movement and skills to overpower Rungnapha Kaewkrachang (13-12-1, 1 KO) of Thailand.
Johnson sent Kaewkrachang to the canvas three times before the bout was stopped at 1:56 of the 4th Round.
After the official announcement was read, Roy Jones Jr. presented Johnson with the WIBA Championship Belt as well as her defended WBA Oceania Championship, which she claimed in December with a decision victory over Gretel de Paz of the Philippines.
Jones was cited, “She definitely has the talent, now it’s just a matter of getting her over there.”
The show was promoted by Big Time Boxing
