After her April draw to Maria Soledad Vargas, WBC Atomweight Champion Fabiana Bytyqi stated, “I expected it to be the toughest fight of my career, and it certainly was. Mexican women are really tough, and each of her punches carried power.”
This Saturday at the Sportovni Hala Kladno in Kladno, Czech Republic, the champion looks to have a fight of her young career in her next defense of her crown.
Bytyqi (14-0-1, 5 KOs), the hometown favorite, will have her hands full with Mexico’s multi-championship contender Ana Arrazola (28-13-3, 14 KOs).
The 23 year old champion has yet to face someone with the experience that Arrazola has on her resume.
Arrazola has recorded matchups with former champion Jessica “Kika” Chavez, current WBC FLyweight Champion Ibeth “La Roca” Zamora, current WBA Light Flyweight Champion Yesica “La Tuti” Bopp, former champion and International Boxing Hall of Fame candidate Susi “Killer Queen” Kentikian, Korean contendor Ji Hyun Park, Interim WBCC Light Flyweight Champion Kenia Enriquez, former champion “Raging Raja” Amasheh, and more.
The Czech champion has produced action-packed bouts and plenty of hard-hitting stoppages within her 4 and a half year career thus far, including the 2018 #WomenofBoxing #FightTown Bout of the Year honor in her entertaining win over former former WBC Muay Thai Champion Denise Castle to win the inaugural WBC Atomweight Championship.
