Sweden’s Shock and Awe Super Welterweight, Mikaela Lauren (30-5-, 13 KOs), has announced that Saturday’s 6-Round matchup with Serbia’s Eva Bajic (14-11, 9 KOs) on Bulldog Media’s Fight Night at the Lindholmen Event in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Lauren just entered the joint life of marriage with her partner, Peder Södersteen, recently and was in New York training on her honeymoon.
The newly crowned IBO Super Welterweight Champion posted on Facebook: “It’s time to start the next chapter in life, hopefully as mom, if it wants to be well. Rather stop on top and still love the sport, than to continue a little too long… Really looking forward to stepping into the ring with joy this Saturday and hope I can perform despite some injuries, weddings and travel.”
In April, Lauren claimed that vacant IBO strap by dealing up and comer and undefeated Verena Kaiser her first lose of her career.
Lauren has made a name and image for herself due to her impressive record with addition to her intimidation actions with her opponents during fight week events.
She has stood toe to toe with some of the best in the game: Cecilia Brækhus, Christina Hammer, Klara Swensson, Kali Reis, and more.
On Saturday, professional match #36 will be the Swedish Queen’s final bout and we all wish her luck in her new life.
