United Kingdom’s two-time Olympian and 2012 World Amateur Champion Savannah Marshall (1-0) is anxiously awaiting her UK debut on Hennessy Sports May 12th Sam Sexton vs Hughie Fury undercard.
The “Silent Assassin” Marshall made made her pro-debut by defeating the durable Sydney LeBlanc on one of the biggest boxing spectacles of all time, Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.
After mutually parting ways with Mayweather Promotions, Marshall hopes to stay busy and go after the top boxers of the Middleweight division.
Now, Marshall is in the midst of a 10-week training camp with Hughie’s father, Peter, at the Team Fury HQ in Bolton for her 8-Round contest with Finland’s Sanna Turunen (4-0-1, 1 KO) TBD (at the time of publishing, Boxrec even portrayed Turunen as the opponent. On 5/3/18, we were notified by Team Turunen that she is not available nor agreed to the matchup).
With the clout of being the only opponent (Amateur or Professional) to be victorious of current WBC and IBF Super Middleweight Claressa Shields, Marshall’s mission is clear… Go after the top dog. Marshall vs Shields is her ambition because “She’s a world champion so she’s in the way.”
May 12th will be her next test.
