Due to an injury to Hevinson Herrera during a skirmish at pre-fight medicals, his bout with Zab Judah was cancelled. This paved the way for the #WomenofBoxing Lightweight rematch of Amanda Serrano (25-1, 18 KOs) vs. Fatuma Zarika (24-23-2, 14 KOs) to take over as the Main Event.
As usual, Serrano didn’t let the fans down with an entertaining match.
Similar to their first fight back in May, Zarika held her own and showed how touch she is by going the distance over the competitive 6 round matchup.
Serrano won decisively, but she could not crack the chin of Zarika. As Serrano’s coach/manager, Jordan Maldonado, pointed out: “Zarika is simply a tough girl. Proved that in going the distance twice with Amanda and with Delphine & Prazak to name a few big names.”
Scores: 60-55, 59-55, 58-56 all in favor of “The Real Deal” Serrano.
Post fight, Serrano addressed her supporting fans:
