The Interim WIBA Bantamweight World Championship is on the line on March 23rd at the Bourbon Hall in Louisville, Kentucky.
Canadian Bantamweight Champion, Shelly Barnett (4-0-2) is up for the challenge of her career when she squares off with the current WIBA International Super Bantamweight Champion Rosalinda Rodriguez (8-0, 2 KOs) of Miami.
“Machine Gun” Shelly cited, “I am so ready for this fight and more willing to learn then ever.”
In discussing this matchup, Barnett added, “We have had two previous dates for this fight cancelled so it’s been simmered awhile.”
Barnett now resides in Chicago, IL, so I have had the ability to watch her grow since she turned professional less than two years ago. “I’ve been able to calm my mind and improve my game!”
Regarding her March 23rd opponent, Barnett stated, “She is a great and highly skilled undefeated fighter. That’s why I look forward to this fight so much. If they have been studying me and think they know me that’s great because I guarantee you she has never been in the ring with someone like me! It will bring out the absolute best in me.”
Barnett closed our recent conversation with: “I’m coming to get what’s mine!”
Barnett’s determination is great. The 35 year old steps up to true challenges. March 23rd will be no exception.
The show is presented by Eskridge Enterprises and Pretty Girl Productions.
