Brian Cohen’s Team Empire Management has Alicia “The Empress” Napoleon (11-1, 6 KOs) of New York defending her WBA Super Middleweight Championship against prospect Schmelle “Bad Intentions” Baldwin (3-0-1, 2 KOs) of Delaware on Thursday, August 29.
The Napoleon/Baldwin championship matchup will be a Co-Feature on DiBella Entertainement’s Broadway Boxing at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
Napoleon earned the WBA belt in March of 2018 by decision triumph over Femke Hermans, then successfully defending it against Hennah Rankin in August.
Baldwin has been striving for a title shot while being a key sparring partner for Welterweight favorite Kali Reis.
The Team Empire undercard will include matchups including former world Champion Welterweight Reis (15-7-1, 5 KOs) of Rhode Island and Bantamweight title hopeful Helen Joseph (15-3-2, 10 KOs) of Nigeria.
“KO Mequinonoag” Reis is still looking for that rematch with Unified Welterweight champion Cecilia Brækhus after their HBO Boxing mega draw showcase where the champ was put to the canvas.
“Iron Lady” Joseph has been avoided by nearly everyone in divisions close to her. Signing with Team Empire is giving her more options as she looks to make that step forward on August 29th.
This show will be a brilliant example of #WomenofBoxing on display and one to see live.
