Tony Grygelko, of Tony G Presents, is believing to have found a “true standout female fighter” that Minnesota has not had before, in 21 year old Amy “Hard Hands” Lemenager (1-0, 1 KO). “This girl has got a massive future.”
Hearing the anxiousness at the podium, Lemenager cited her amateur history and went on to discuss what she heard her opponent stated prior to the Thursday press conference for Saturday’s 4-Rounder at the Convention Center in Minneapolis, MN.
Leslie “the Little Bull” Pope (4-0, 3 KOs) of Kansas City, MO spoke publicly on her hard work that “fuels some of that fire…” The determined 36 year old concluded, “I am not here to pick daisies, that’s for sure.”
Pope is making her 5th trip inside the ropes since making her professional debut last January. Only three weeks ago, Pope collected her 4th win, a Split Decision win over Sarah Rueda in Jefferson, MO.
The Minnesota favorite Lemenager stated, “Most of my wins have been knockouts as an amateur. And I started my pro career with a knockout also. I do not think Leslie here has had many amateur. She is not very prepared in that aspect. I am more well rounded in that aspect of my fighting career. She has had more pro fights than me but I have been boxing longer. I am younger, she is older. I am stronger, she is weaker… When I was in the back room, I heard her say I am less of a fighter than her last fight…’
This really excited the crowd, but both women have to lace up the gloves and prove the strengths and weaknesses.
This bout is a 4 Round tossup that should be very entertaining.
