Going Underground With Terri “The Boss” Moss!
(JUNE 9) On Saturday, July 1st, Terri “The Boss” Moss will make her debut as a professional boxing promoter as she presents the “Underground Showdown” at Buckhead Fight Club. Terri opened the Fight Club in 2013, and has promoted the successful amateur white collar boxing series “Atlanta Corporate Fight Night,” since 2010.
“Underground Showdown” is going to be the series of boxing events that puts boxing BACK on the map here in Atlanta,” Terri said. “ The first show will have a lot of pro debuts, and feature some amateur fighters in their last bouts before going pro, so it’s the excitement of creating future stars and champions fans will witness first hand.” Having her gym as the venue is also a unique aspect of the event. “Buckhead Fight Club has the true, underground fight club vibe,” Terri said. “Fight fans will totally love the feel of our gym as the venue, once they enter down the stairs and see graffiti, fight murals, the ring with its spotlight- it just promises great fight action.”
It’s a natural progression for Terri to take the step to professional events. “The CFN shows have grown so much since we started in 2010, selling out venues like the Georgia Aquarium and 200 Peachtree, then getting licensed to have MMA bouts on our twelfth show in October 2016, it was definitely time to step up to the plate and give the pro shows a go.” The corporate fight night shows have prominent sponsors in the Hard Rock Café, Hooters, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and they are all on board for the debut of the Underground Showdown. To add to the fight night excitement July 1, champions Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik, Zahir Raheem and Christy Martin will be in attendance. “It’s a thrill for Kelly and Christy to be here for fight night,” Terri said. “Kelly is going to do some color commentary and Christy will be able to interact with fans and also, get the word out on her next fight in July, and Zahir has his own gym in Stone Mountain, and will have fighters on this card.”
