From WBC:
Edgy Persoon and Taylor looking ultra sharp in New York
World Boxing Council light champion Delfine Persoon of Belgium will fight champion Katie Taylor of the Emerald Isle, in a fascinating unification match in the coming Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Persoon only has a loss in 44 professional fights. She has been champion for five years, making nine successful defenses, yet she has never fought outside of Europe. Now she`s taking on this difficult unification challenge against Taylor, which will define the world’s best fighter in the 135-pound division.
Taylor, remains undefeated in 13 matches, having won her first world title in just the seventh professional fight, when she beat Anahí Sánchez to capture the WBA crown. Then she beat Victoria Noelia Bustos to win the IBF title, and in her last fight of March 15, she knocked out the previously unbeaten Brazilian Rose Volante, to win the WBO crown.
Both warriors offered an intense, public training, showing that they are in superb and supreme shape, to get into the ring and define who`s mega champ.
The match is organized by Matchroom Boxing, via Eddie Hearn, and will be broadcast by the DAZN and Combate Space app in Latin America.
