From WBC:
Cecilia aims for victory over Victoria
Undisputed and undefeated female welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus, will defend her perfect record and her pristine titles against Victoria Bustos, this Saturday in Monte-Carlo, on a card to be broadcasted live on DAZN.
Braekhus (35-0, 9 KOs) fought last December, defeating Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes by unanimous decision to handily retain her championships plus legacy. The “First Lady” became world champion in 2009, when she captured the titles of the WBA and the WBC of Vinni Skovgaard.
She added the WBO belt to her collection a year later, by beating Victoria Cisneros in May 2010. The champion became the four-belt holder when she conquered the IBF belt against Ivana Habazin in September 2014.
Braekhus is determined to show the world that she is still clearly the best around and per round.
“I am very excited to fight in Monte Carlo and to be part of sports history of the region,” Braekhus said, adding:
“I am sure Victoria Bustos will be a difficult challenge, but I`m well prepared and I am sure that I will offer a great performance for my fans present and for those around the world.”
The challenge is very worthy. Bastos (19-5, 0 KOs) has won four of her last five fights, including a unanimous decision victory over Enis Pacheco in December. The 30-year-old is aware of the golden opportunity presented to her and plans to make the very most of it.
