From New Zealand Boxrec Editor – Benjamin Watt:
Claressa Shields Response to New Zealand Boxers
On March 30th, New Zealand Boxers Geovana Peres and Lani Daniels will face each other in Auckland, New Zealand for the vacant WBO Light Heavyweight title. Both boxers have also declared that they win, they will be dropping down in weight and targeting Claressa Shields next.
Originally when an article was written stating this, Shields was not available to comment. However after she saw the article on Instagram, Claressa Shields responded.
“😂😂😂 Hell they got bigger problems than me sadly! I’m fighting at 160 and once I become undisputed I’m going 154 to capture my 3rd division😂😂 I got some heat for they ass though ! “FRANCHON! @thehhdezearned These bigger girls trying to fight me! Get em!”
After her comment, the feed blew up, with people throwing trash talk, shade, chairs, you name it. People saying the girls are answering your call out and stating how good the boxers were. However the more comments made, the more it caused Claressa to get louder.
“you clown, Lani box worse than Geovana. She Daniels too slow and carry her hands too low. Her ass will be sleep by the 4th 😂 get out of here”
“😂 3x world champ, the girls you are on here arguing about are unheard of 😭 with weird records, stop it lol.”
“you silly as hell. I’ll go to 175 and smoke they ass no brainer, I’m just handling business at 160 right now, and I need to get something at 154, but 168 and 175 is no problem for me. I wonder where their big asses was at when I had two belts at 168??? i could barely find an opponent. That’s why I went down.”
Geovana Peres trainer Terry Batchelor seem to be the most humble of all the comments staying “Would love to see Geovana vs Claressa Sheilds, Geovana is a big hitter…” but in Shields reply “I just looked her up, she’s just big not a big hitter lol@” despite the retelation Terry stayed humble and said “you are a good fighter nobody can dispute that. But will be a good fight.”
Lani Daniels trainer John Conway also put his words on facebook “Be cool to get a match with sheilds. Over rated easy to hit and is caught up in her own world. But for now I only have one target”.
Both Geovana Peres and Lani Daniels are focused on their bout with each other on 30th of March for the WBO World title. It is unknown if the winner of the bout will face Shields, however it seems that despite all the trash talk Claressa doesnt seem interested.
Geovana Peres (6 – 1 – 0) vs Lani Daniels (4 – 1 – 0) for the vacant WBO Women’s World Light Heavyweight title. It will be held in Auckland, NZ on March 30th. The event is promoted by Bruce Glozier of Glozier Boxing. Currently the promoter is in negotiations with multiple networks to have the event televised.
