On Friday evening, IBF Lightweight Champion Victoria Bustos (18-4) and Maria Capriolo (7-7-4) made history by being the first two boxers from Rosario, Argentina squaring off for a world championship, AND happening within the same town at the Club Sportivo America in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.
Bustos pressured her challenger relentless behind constant jabs and persistent point-winning combinations.
Capriolo, fighting in her 2nd consecutive world title bout (unsuccessful challenge of Stephanie Ducastel’s WBF Super Featherweight title in May), just could not keep up with the defending champion.
Official Scores: 98-92, 97-93, 97-93 for Bustos.
Other #WomenofBoxing Bout on Card:
Brenda Carabajal (12-3-1, 9 KOs) defeated Maria Ruiz (5-11-1) by 6th Round TKO.
