From WBA:
Robles and Ramos Make Weight For Title Clash
By: Kid Hersh
Sandra “Perla Negra” Robles (20-2-0, 20 ko’s) and Brenda “Muñeca” Ramos (10-6-0, 4 ko’s) both came in at the divisional limit of 108lbs for their World Boxing Association (WBA) World Female Light Flyweight Title fight.
The fight will take place at the Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico for the vacant WBA Minimumweight Championship. It will be broadcast by Casa del Boxeo, Azteca 7.
Robles is the local fighter that looks to fulfill her dreams of becoming a world champion, as she has fought the WBA Minimumweight Title once before, coming up short after six rounds to Anabel Ortiz in September of 2015 after an accidental clash of heads pushed the fight to the judges scorecards where she was well behind.
Robles promises a good fight, saying “I’m in a great place, very motivated and with excellent preparation. The championship will stay at home and I want to give my people from Tijuana a great fight and great satisfaction,” said Sandra, further adding “I will throw many blows, I always do, but for every Brenda throw I will connect with three.”
Ramos has her own thoughts of what will happen in Tijuana, saying ”Sandra is right that it will be a great fight but the triumph and the championship will go back to Monterrey. I have had great preparation and there is no way that I cannot hold the pace and the intensity. We will win convincingly and not leave anything to the judges.”
No doubt Ramos is referring to her last bout against Irma Sanchez where she lost on the judges scorecards via split decision in a very good fight but a good fight with a very controversial outcome that she hopes to turn the tables on this go-round.
