Mariana Juárez keeps making history
Versatile and brilliant Mariana ‘Barry’ Juárez added another superb chapter to her story as a boxer, by dominating the Argentine warrior, Carolina Duer, successfuly defending her bantam crown of the World Boxing Council for the ninth time.
Mariana maintained control of the actions, using her better boxing skills, greater height and longer reach to win a unanimous decision victory with scores of 97-94 and 98-91 on two cards.
The Mexican boxer, who is a true pioneer of women’s boxing, wants to continue writing history in the sport and at 39, she has repeatedly commented on her interest in going up to the super bantam division and conquering a new weight category.
