Hammer ready for torrid Tori challenge
World Boxing Council female middleweight champion, Christina Hammer (22-0, 10 KOs) fights tough former world champion Tori Nelson (17-1-3, 2 KOs) on June 22 in Detroit, Michigan.
Hammer, based in Dortmund, Germany, has dominated the women’s middleweight division since 2010. The 27-year-old boxer says she has almost completed one of the best training camps of her life and is relishing the ready Tori challenge.
“My camp has been very good. We work hard to be in the best possible shape on June 22 in Detroit. I will show my power and ability. People are going to see who is the best middleweight champion in the world. My performance will speak for itself,” pledged the champion.
Hammer comes from defending her crown, last November, hammering and knocking out Gifty Amanua Ankrah from Ghana. Tori Nelson comes from losing against WBC female super middleweight champion Claressa Shields.
