From WBA:
Yesica Bopp to Defend Title Against Frias
By: Kid Hersh
Yesica Yolanda Bopp (33-1, 14KO’s) is set to defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) World Female Light Flyweight Title against Soledad del Valle Frias (13-10-4, 4KO’s) this Friday, April 6th, at José María Gatica in Villa Dominico in Argentina.
Bopp is coming off of a very good performance in stopping Debora Rengifo in the seventh round this last November. The fight took place at José María Gatica; the same venue for the title defense this Friday. Bopp was too fast and strong for Rengifo as she broke down the challenger over the course of the fight until Rengifo’s corner threw in the towel.
This will Frias’ first shot at the WBA title but she is a veteran that figures to bring fireworks to the all-Argentinian showdown. This will be Bopps ninth defense of the WBA world title.
