Former WBC Super Flyweight Champion Zulina “Loba” Muñoz (49-2-2, 29 KOs) was back in action after 20 months of maternity leave, stopping fellow countrywoman Arely Valente (12-4-1, 6 KOs) at the Deportivo Trabajadores del Metro in Izlacalco, Distrito Federal, Mexico on Saturday.
Muñoz hammered on her opponent for 5 full rounds before Valente conceded between the 5th and 6th Rounds.
Official Time: 2:00 of the 5th Round
Weight is already in line for her championship challenge to reclaim her title, but she admits that her skills still need to recover.
Muñoz’s record is unbelievable, especially for just being 31-years old:
- With 49 wins, Muñoz is tied for #3 on the all-time Wins List, along with retired boxers Christy Martin and Mia St. John. Two victories behind Mariana Juarez and six behind retired Regina Halmich.
- #2 on All-Time KO List with her 29th KO on Saturday, just two knockouts behind Martin.
It is only time before the rematch with Guadalupe Martinez is set to attempt to regain the WBC Super Flyweight Championship.
